Welcome to Tintagel Duck Farm

Rare breed Silver Appleyard Duck

Traditionally bred as a large table bird and excellent egg layer, the Silver Appleyard had fallen out of favor with commercial producers, due to the longer growing time required compared to the more traditional pekin/mallard type meat birds.

At Tintagel Duck Farm, our ducks are produced for two weeks longer than most commercial ducks, giving them a flavor  that is light and delicate, with a soft, melting texture which is exceptionally lean for duck meat.

Mixed whole grain corn and pellet diet

All our ducks are fed a nutritional pellet diet, alongside a locally sourced whole grain mix. Not only this, but they have the freedom to roam and forage in all that Cornwall has to offer in our lush grassy paddocks, with access to fresh bathing water to keep themselves clean.

Bred, hatched, reared and dispatched on our farm

Here at Tintagel Duck Farm, animal welfare is at the heart of what we do. Our ducks are bred, hatched, reared and dispatched on site, eliminating any stressful travelling and guaranteeing our customers 100% traceability.

Freedom to roam and bathe in lush grassy paddocks

Our ducks welfare is key to our success, not only do we feed a locally sourced whole grain and pellet, but from a young age our ducks are given access to bathe and forage in our lush grassy paddocks. This enables them to enjoy a stress free environment, as well as enjoying all the bugs that Cornwall has to offer!

Testimonials

Bennet Lee

Heritage Meats – Hong Kong

“Rare native English poultry breeds, pasture raised, family scale and independent farmer – it doesn’t get better than this. Tintagel’s Silver Appleyard ducks and Cornish Game chicken offers a rarefied gastronomic experience for gourmands and the health conscious.

The inherent rich flavours defined by terroir, breed, husbandry and maturity will change the way you think and eat poultry, forever. Perhaps, most surprisingly, we never even season the meat, you’ll find the farmer and nature has done everything for us, perfectly.”

“Since I moved back to Cornwall 10 years ago lots of “local” produce has come my way with all the promise of grandeur and it ends up being average at best if not less than.

I tried your Duck last night and ive got to say it was the best product anyone has put in front of me in these 10 years if not longer.

I was completely bowled over. Totally amazing texture and flavour
